Kelly Tymburski is head of Dentons’ Middle East Telecoms, Media & Technology (TMT) group and is based in the Dubai office. She has significant expertise and experience advising on both TMT projects/ commercial and regulatory matters, having been based in the Middle East since 2007.
Ms Tymburski regularly advises private sector clients (including major financial institutions, insurance companies, universities and health sector organisations) on privacy and data protection inquiries for the UAE and wider Middle East region, covering both federal / national and free zone legal regimes. Her advice covers all aspects of data collection, handling and disclosure (for example, compliance considerations when implementing new information management solutions, consent mechanisms and offshore data transfers). She has also advised government and regulatory authorities on the development of data protection regimes and policies in the Middle East, which has included the preparation of draft national legislation governing privacy and data protection for the State of Qatar.
